Kananaskis Ranch Golf Course

this relaxed regulation golf course lies at the base of Yamnuska Mountain on the north side of the Brewster family’s 90-year-old guest ranch.

The course, following the moraines on the north bank of the Bow River surrounded by Rocky Mountain scenery, is a friendly public facility open for daily green fee use.

Bud Brewster, a fourth generation cowboy and entrepreneur, had a dream to build a Golf course on the family Ranch he grew up on. The front nine opened in 2001 and the completed course opened in 2009. In 2012 Bud passes away at the age of 83 at his home in Banff. The annual Bud Brewster Tournament goes each year in September in support of STARS air ambulance. STARS is dedicated to providing a safe, rapid, highly specialized medical transport system for critically ill and injured.

This unique 18-hole course has smooth fairways, bent grass greens, as well as a couple of small ponds and a handful of sand traps. With the completion of the full 18 holes in 2009, the course is now a Par 71 and 5,606 yards of play. The quaint one-room log cabin pro-shop has hand-crafted pine benches which offer comfort and a spectacular view from the wooden deck. The cabin is supplied with all your golf necessities, and a licensed snack bar. Power carts, pull carts, and club rentals are available.

Nature lovers' this course is your ideal choice.

There is an abundance of wildflowers throughout the season; bird life is plentiful and offers the possibility of seeing a wide variety of species, including Kestrels, Red-tailed Hawk, Golden Eagles, Bald Eagles and Osprey. A family of mule deer may also pay you a visit while you're out on the greens.

Group Golf Packages can include a Barbecue dinner in the famed Brewster "Donut" tent or in the Golf Course Tournament Room.
