The famed Brewster ‘Donut’, originally designed by Claude Brewster, provides authentic Western atmosphere and entertainment.

Our reputation for quality food, great service, and rustic western facilities make for an unforgettable Canadian experience. A central bonfire is the focal point of the ‘Donut’ tent, with an open view to the evening sky.

The scenic Rocky Mountain location on the shore of the Bow River, coupled with numerous adventure opportunities, are sure to offer your group the mix of options required for complete event success.


Dinnertime, cowboy-style

The Brewster "Hip of Beef," the family specialty 'AAA' Alberta Beef rolled and aged specially for our barbecues. Prepared in large barbecue ovens and basted in natural juices, the roasts are carved for guests in our buffet serving lines. A highlight is seeing the meat transported by 'pitch fork' to the buffet tables. Several menu options are available as well as Full Licensed Bar service, with specialty wines available on request.


COWBOY culture

Various entertainment and adventure options can be added to your barbecue event to make for a truly memorable western event for your guests. Live western entertainment, line dancing, interactive gunfighter shows, and native hoop dancer. Other activities for your day in the Canadian Rockies include golfing the Ranch's own 18 hole golf course, river rafting, voyageur canoe trips on the Bow River, helicopter rides, fly fishing excursions, interpretive hiking, and overnight horse trips.

A Brewster Kananaskis Ranch Rodeo, held at the base of Yamnuska Mountain, is an hour of exhilarating entertainment produced exclusively for your group. The Rodeo entertainment package will capture what Canadian Western Cowboys and Cowgirls do for fun and competition. The Rodeo is a five event, hour long production, including Saddle Bronc Riding, Ladies Barrel Racing, Bareback riding, Ladies Trick Riding, and one of the most exciting Rodeo Events - Bull Riding.

A Western Barbecue tops off the Rodeo Evening. Rodeo facilities are outdoors and operate rain or shine.


the legendary big house


Built in 1923 by Missy Bagley Brewster, the ‘Big House’ has remained as part of the Ranch’s history on the Brewster Family Homestead.

Welcoming guests to the Canadian Rockies from all over the world the guest ranch, in its early days, was host to famed ‘western adventures’ including the Disney, Eaton and Woodward families.

The Big House is open May to October and is the perfect destination base for exploring the Banff, Lake Louise and Kananaskis areas of Alberta. The Guest Ranch is an easy drive 60 minute drive west from the Calgary International Airport. The double lane TransCanada highway make Canmore, Banff and Lake Louise, all to the west, easily accessible.

Stunning views from the main level feature a sitting room-styled living room. Facing the Bow River, the living room opens into the kitchen area, and offers a sit-up bar and original River Stone fireplace with large dining table for entertaining or conferences. A wrap-around windowed veranda, antique pool table and piano make this an amazing room for gathering family, friends or associates.

The upper level of the Big House features a Master Suite facing the Bow River and private deck, queen bed, seating area and en- suite with claw leg tub and antique sink vanity. Three other bedrooms, all with duvets and Pendleton blankets, two bathrooms and one shower room, complete this level.

A private walking trail along the River with a gated entry way is just minutes from the Ranch Golf course or stables area.
